TEHRAN, Oct. 06 (MNA) –4 Iranian films will be screened at the 2014 international film festivals in Brazil, Japan, and Mexico.

Unripe pomegranates directed by Majidreza Mostafavi will be screened at 2014 Sao Paulo Film Festival.

Unripe pomegranates is Majidreza Mostafavi’s debut feature film to be screened at the 38th International Sao Paulo Film Festival in Brazil.

The São Paulo International Film Festival also known internationally as Mostra, is an annual film festival held in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. Today, Mostra screens more than 300 films a year, and has received recognition as the main gateway in Brazil to world cinema. This non-profit event will take place from October 16 to 29.

Unripe pomegranates narrates the story of a young woman whose husband has an accident while welding on top of a tower. The woman’s love and affection for her hospitalized husband as well as an old woman suffering from Alzheimer whom she is taking care of will pose new challenges to her.

Feature film Borderless directed by Amir-Hossein Asgari will be screened on October 29 at the 27th Tokyo International Film Festival.

Asgari’s debut film narrates the story of a young boy who has been fishing for some time in a grounded ship at the zero point border. He has chosen the place for his seclusion and serenity when the appearance of a stranger takes away his peace and his work.

Immigrant is a bird by Marzieh Riahi and Iranian Ninja by Marjan Riahi will be shown at the International Mexican Women Film Festival on October 9 to 26 in Mexico City.

Riahi’s debut screen creation represents the struggles of an Iranian martial instructor Khatereh Jalilzadeh who teaches Ninjutsu to young girls in Tehran.

Iranian Ninja has previously entered the competition section of the the 14th International Documentary Film Festival dubbed Flahertiana in Russia.
